Need An MP3 Player Guide

I want to buy an mp3 player, but I'm clueless. Can I get an iPod if I don't have a Mac? Can I download music from any site, regardless of what kind I get? How much is music? Do they all have voice recorders too, and are they any good? Please, someone, fill me in about mp3 players.

I have an ipod shuffle, it is very basic, no bells or whistles, holds about 240 songs, cost, 78.72 at WM this week, and this week comes witha $15 itunes card. Songs are about .99cents each. I have not bought any music downloads. I put some of my cd collection on Mama's computer, and I can format them to mp3 and put on the ipod. Battery life is 12 hours before you need to charge it, which you do when you have it hooked to the dock that comes with it. It is very small, about 1x2 inches, and only 1/4 inch thick. However, if you are wanting to watch videos or tv broadcasts, you need the nano (i think). and that is the extent of my mp3 knowledge. I do have a couple of aides that have mp3 players that are not ipods and they seem to work pretty much the same way.

Hope this helps. Love you, annabanana
